Singer Taylor Swift has become the youngest person ever to make the Forbes "100 Most Powerful Women" list. The net worth of the 25-year-old star is $200 million, Forbes said. The singer and songwriter gets the No. 64 position on the Forbes list while fellow musician Madonna is at No. 28, and Beyoncé takes the No. 49 spot.

“Taylor Swift’s net worth falls just short of the $250 million minimum needed to claim a spot on our list of America’s 50 Richest Self-Made Women,” Forbes said. The website adds that Swift has already earned “roughly $300 million during her career” and invested a large amount of her money into real estate. Swift has homes in Nashville, Tennessee; Beverly Hills, California; New York City and Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

Swift and her family also own a major stake in Big Machine Records, an independent American record label specializing in country music artists including Swift, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw. The company's present market value is estimated to be as much as $350 million.

Swift, who was born in Pennsylvania, started her career as a country singer but made a seamless transition to pop superstar with her recent album, “1989.” She also took home eight Billboard Music Awards in 2015. Swift said in her previous interviews that the transition did not come easy to her as her record label was not very confident with her move to venture into a different genre of music. Swift was told to focus on writing country music but she wanted to give her fans something different. Today, “1989” is a successful album and has earned her millions in sales.

With her song “Bad Blood,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, Swift also earned her fourth No. 1 hit at theBillboard Hot 100. "Bad Blood" toppled Wiz Khalifa's “Furious 7” soundtrack hit "See You Again," which spent six weeks at No. 1. The music video of “Bad Blood” also recently broke the Vevo record for maximum number of hits in 24 hours. The multi-starrer video gained 20.1 million views on its first day of release.

However, according to The Wire, Dre owns about 25 percent in Beats, which wouldn't quite be worth a $1 billion at the reported sale price. Nonetheless, the sale of his company still might push him to the top of the Forbes' wealthiest hip hop artists list, which is currently ruled by Bad Boy CEO P. Diddy. Thanks to his new TV network, Revolt TV, and his ongoing deal with Ciroc, Diddy's net worth equates to $700 million.

As of now, Dre comes in second place on the list with a net worth of $550 million.

Right behind him is Brooklyn-born mogul Jay-Z, whose net worth is $520 million, mostly because of the sale of his Rocawear clothing line in 2007, which sold for $204 million.
Number four on the list is YMCMB head honcho Birdman with $160 million, followed by 50 Cent, who's amassed a $140 million fortune.

Tidal also pays a royalty every time a song is played. So if Tidal is a success, artists will make a lot of money off of it especially since Tidal is owned by the artists. “Everyone knows that the pay system is unfair to artists,” Jay Z said.

“Everywhere else, everyone gets compensated for their work. Music is everywhere – you consume it every day, everywhere you go. The content creator should be compensated. It’s only fair.”

But the real difference with Tidal is the subscription services. While Spotify has a free subscription and a subscription for $9.99, Tidal will only have a $9.99 service and a $19.99 premium service, which offers exclusive content.

Forgoing the free subscription service means more money and more freedom for the artists. They feel they’ll finally be paid what they deserve. One member of Daft Punk is even calling them “The Avengers of Music.” The real question is whether people will pay the extra money. Especially if it's going into Jay Z and Beyoncé's bank accounts.

Questions about the logistics of Tidal were also raised. Will all the artists get an equal share of Tidal? Would the artists’ labels allow this?

“Will artists make more money? Even if it means less profit for our bottom line, absolutely,” Jay Zsaid. “That’s easy for us. We can do that. Less profit for our bottom line, more money for the artist; fantastic. Let’s do that today.”
